Slow Sun Broadband Stick

Slow Sun Broadband Stick - Philippines

I use a Sun broadband stick to connect to the internet here in the Philippines.  I'm telling you it's nothing like the connection back in Canada.  It's like the stone age version of internet connection.
It's a stick that you plug in your usb slot.  You buy a card/load good for a day, 3 days, or 7 days.  Once you buy the card, you input in the the numbers on the back of the card to load it.  I always buy the 7 days load for internet connection for P250 (a bit more than $6 CAN).  $24.68 for a month of pathetic, galling connection.  My main means of bread and butter is from what I earn online (I subsist on selling my stuff, (read here why) and since I am online most of the time (sometimes I just have a cup of coffee and am using my laptop till evening), the Sun sticks connection is so frustrating.  There are times that for 3 days straight not even Google search page would load.  All I see is a blank page!  WTH?!  I feel like throwing it away.  If it was a living thing, I would've throttled it.  Why do I still use it?  Bayantel, which has a DSL connection (nope, no cable connection here) has a 2 year holding period.  I am not sure if I am going to stay in General Santos City for two years.  If I cancel the contract I would have to pay more than P4000.  I have also heard they are slow too (not as slow as the Sun stick broadband).  But that's P4000 that I can't afford right now, therefore the continuous usage of the terrible Sun stick.  The Sun broadband stick looks like this:
