Reese Witherspoon with husband Jim Toth |
A dash cam video from a Georgia State Patrol's shows Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon having a drunken confrontation with a police officer which ended up in her arrest for disorderly conduct.
On April 19, actress Reese Witherspoon was arrested in Atlanta and charged with disorderly conduct after disobeying an officer's order to stay in the car. Her husband, Hollywood agent Jim Toth, was being given a field sobriety test following a traffic stop when the footage of Witherspoon was shot.
The video shows a Reese attempting to protest after husband Jim was handcuffed after failing a field sobriety test. The officer told the actress several times to sit down and stay in the car. Seemingly unable to listen, Reese gets out of the car and begins arguing with the officer who promptly arrests her.
Toth was charged with drunken driving and is due in court May 23. Witherspoon faces a May 22 court hearing on the disorderly conduct charge.
Reese has since apologized for the behavior, saying she's "deeply embarrassed" by what she said after having had "one drink too many." During a visit to "Good Morning America" this week, Witherspoon said she panicked after seeing her husband being questioned by police.
