Mother In Law

Mother (Momster) In Law

mother-in-law

My mother in law popped by today.  No, not to visit us but to torment us.  She thrives on conflict, controversy and breathes fire.  Literally.  She cannot go on a day without screaming and yelling at somebody.  It doesn't matter who that person is, she will find a target and find something wrong with that person just so she can have her daily vocal exercise.  According to her though, she doesn't like yelling and always listens.  Crazy people does have a twisted way of thinking and reasoning.

Today, I was her target.

She screams, "If you don't have any money now, it's your fault for coming here to the Philippines.  You were stupid to leave your job and come here!"

Excuse me???!!!@#?!  For two years you and FIL wouldn't stop asking us to come here giving us promises and false hopes!  When we didn't want to come here you guys even resorted to getting angry at us.  Now you're telling me it's our fault!  Yes, it is.  And I agree, I was really stupid.  Stupid to fall for your deceit.  (Read here).

"If you don't have any money, then why did all your things come in new boxes?  That means all your things are brand new!"

Where the hell does she get her line of thinking?  So what if they came in boxes?   My microwave was five years old and I still had the original box.  We always flattened our boxes and kept it under the stairs in the basement just in case we would need it again.  Besides, back home in Canada you can go to Walmart or Costco and grab/ask for boxes there.  I could have a brand new bookshelf box but inside it are old clothes.  Sheesh!  Both her and FIL resent that we brought our things here.  Well, we thought that we would have a place to live in and put our things in.  Turns out that we wouldn't.  Besides, since they ate their words, by bringing my things here, at least I have something to sell.

"If you didn't have much money, then why did you have a credit card?  No bank would give you a credit card if you're poor!"

Uh, we have something that is called credit rating.  You build that up even with a store card then later on you can get one.  Back home, they even bombard you with calls, letters, and offers to get a credit card.  They want you to get one.  Not like here that you need to show or have money to have a credit card.

"It's cheap to live in the States and Canada!"

Go live there then.  We'll see if you will still say it's cheap.

"I am good mother!!! I take care of my kids!"

Right.  She doesn't call them, talk to them, or even care if they are starving.  She wouldn't even care if her daughter dropped dead.  She will just say that it's her daughter's fault she died.

"It's your fault you came here!  You should've told your employer to hold on to your job!"

Oh, how I wish that was possible.  The dreams that they painted were so good.  I never thought that they asked us to come in to hell.

She screams the same twisted things repeatedly.  The yelling got to me.  I was so glad when she finally left.

To all the real mothers out there, we love you!
