Best Western Klassique Sukhumvit

Best Western Klassique Sukhumvit, Bangkok, Thailand

This hotel is hard to find.  Although we were provided directions in Thai, the cab driver still had a difficult time finding it.  He called the hotel for directions and still got lost.  Eventually found it though as I kept on looking at the map which was in English.  I told the driver to make a u-turn under the Phra Kanong bridge.  He eventually understood and made a u turn under the bridge before it reached the toll expressway. Just right after the u turn was the hotel.

I am staying right now in this hotel but will check out tomorrow as I will be heading to Chiang Mai for seven days.

Honestly, I wouldn't have booked this hotel if we didn't get a huge discount as it's above our budget range.  But since I was able to get a really good deal, here I am.

On the night we arrived, we were greeted by Joyce, a Filipina who was really friendly and helpful.  We were given room 201.  I always check the bathroom if it's clean and unfortunately, it was flooded and so was the shower stall.  I informed Joyce about it and she said she'll just transfer us to another room.  As I was starving, I said I was going to 7/11 first and grab something to eat as there was no food stalls nearby.  Here in Bangkok, I enjoy sampling the deliciously cheap food.  None was nearby or was just closed for the night.  So out I went and turned left.  At the first corner, turned left again until I saw the 7/11 sign.  About ten minutes walk.  I got instant noodles and spicy bologna.  That was dinner.

When I came back to the hotel, Joyce transferred us to room 212.  It didn't have a window.  Felt really stifling.  The walls were so thin that I heard our neighbor coming in the early hours of the morning, arguing about him having the worst vacation ever.  Their argument continued till six a.m.  Heard people going in and out of their rooms and the banging of the doors.  Barely slept at all.  I called front desk to be transferred to another room with a window.  By noon, I transferred to room 202.  A window does make a lot of difference in a room.

Room 202 has two twin beds, a bar fridge, 40 inch lcd tv,  hot water kettle, 2 sachets each of tea, coffee, sugar and creamer, two bottles of water, a blow dryer and the basic complimentary toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, shower cap and four pieces of ear buds).

Best Western Klassique Sukhumvit has a free tuk tuk service that drives you back and forth to BTS On Nut Station.  Just call them when you are at the station or in our case, Tesco, and they'll pick you up.  Really good service if you don't want to walk back anymore.

The hotel also has an internet station that has two pc's that you can use if you don't have a laptop or android with you.  You can just go to the first floor and use their pc's if you feel like sharing your pictures right away to the world.  For me, this was way better than typing with a tiny android keyboard, so it helped a lot.

I wouldn't know when I can make another post again as I hate typing with the tiny android keyboard.  Thanks Best Western Klassique Sukhumvit for providing these.
